Each year, Pitt Cyber, in partnership with Pitt Information Technology, hosts the Air Force Association CyberCamp. This week-long camp is free and open to high school students and teaches cybersecurity principles, skills, and future career opportunities.

The CyberCamp and its commitment to building a strong pipeline of cybersecurity professionals was highlighted recently by the White House.

Camp Details

The camp is designed for a range of technical skill levels, including introductory digital literacy, and is focused on systems security and cyber ethics. Taught by cybersecurity professionals from the University of Pittsburgh and elsewhere, students learn in-demand skills like cyber hygiene, Windows and Ubuntu system administration, and more. The camp concludes with students competing to find and fix vulnerabilities in a virtual machine environment.

The camp is held Monday-Friday from 9 AM - 1 PM on the University of Pittsburgh main campus and includes the opportunity to hear from and interact with cyber professionals during classroom time, panels, and other events.

Advanced CyberCamp 2.0 Pilot

Pitt Cyber is pleased to offer a session of our new Advanced CyberCamp 2.0 pilot for high school students. The program will focus on advanced cybersecurity tactics, including hands-on exercises and instruction led by Pitt School of Computing and Information Teaching Associate Professor Ahmed Ibrahim and industry experts. The session is separate from our original CyberCamp and will run remotely July 15-17, 2024 from 10 am – 3pm and is free to participate. Registration info to come.

Participation Requirements:

  • To participate in Advanced CyberCamp 2.0 pilot, you must have previously attended both our Standard and Advanced CyberCamp.
  • Must have a reliable device (laptop/desktop) and internet.
